Reaper is asurprising free application, in less than 1MB, that is able to unite an arsenal of utilities and functions for the treatment of audio files. It also accepts any sound format, like the common MP3 and WAV, to the more unusual like OGG.



Reaper has support for multi track editing, letting you control each track independently. That is to say, you can adjust the volume or apply sound effects to some tracks in one way, and to others in another. It is very practical to start playing with your own compositions, although it can also be used to modify existing audio files, recording the resulting file as a new one.



With Reaper you are able to record and play using ASIO, Kernel Streaming, WaveOut or DirectSound, using the effects that come included in Reaper, and you can insert your own audio files that are on your hard drive.
